SOPA and PIPA

Quincybjj.com will be participating in the SOPA and PIPA strike on January 18th, 2012.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but gotta fight for the future!

The First of Many Great Classes

Tonight’s classes were truly amazing.  Youth and Adult students alike worked hard and all seemed to comment on how effective BJJ can be.  I walked out of the Quincy High School Wrestling Room tired, sore and grinning from ear to ear at a remarkable group of kids and adults who all demonstrated a willingness to DO, not try.

Getting Pumped for the First Official Quincy BJJ Class!

I’ve been so excited to kick things off with Quincy BJJ over the last month that this week has been similar to the days leading up to a vacation or Christmas morning when I was a kid.  I’ve been picking up equipment, designing a flyer, setting up this web site and even downloading songs/apps on iTunes to ensure for a fun, informative, safe and effective training environment in an already ideal facility.

Parents, please make sure you at least have a mouthguard for youth students.  Otherwise, they will owe Coach Pipes 3 minutes of wall-sits or 30 burpees for one of his that he will have on-hand.

If you don’t have a Gi for Sunday’s class, please wear board-shorts or yoga pants and a rashguard if you have one (otherwise, a T-shirt will suffice).  If you have any joint-problems and wear braces for physical activity, I encourage you to wear them until you know what to expect from the class.

Quincy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Official

Today, I’m exceedingly thankful to God, my sister, Russ Harrington, Greg Martinez, Quincy High School and Community, Jimmy & Darian Thompson, Coach Rollo, and all my friends at and affiliated with T-Town MMA. I’m officially starting up Quincy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on January 15th, teaching adults and kids three times a week. BJJ has helped me get back on the right track with my life and reclaimed my sanity through a lot of hardship (some self-inflicted, lol) the last three years. And so I wanted to start my day off thanking and recognizing the MANY people that have blessed me with the knowledge I have today and the ones who have helped me continue my training and teaching within the Quincy Community.
